1. SOIL CHEMICAL ANALYSES:
Some of the traditional soil chemical analyses that we perform are soil pH, soil organic matter (dry and wet combustion), total and available N, Polsen, available K, and electric conductivity.
2. SOIL PHYSICAL ANALYSES:
We currently offer various soil physical analyses such as particle size distribution (Bouyoucos and Pipette methods), soil bulk density (cylinder and aggregate methods), particle density, penetration resistance, soil water repellency, soil water release curves (using sand box, pressure plates [1-5Kpa] and a water potential meter WP4 Decagon Devices). We also have made in situ measurements of penetration resistance and water infiltration.
3. SOIL BIOLOGICAL ANALYSES:
The Soil Ecology Lab has implemented several biological analysis that contribute to the understanding of the functioning of agricultural as well as forest ecosystems. Microbial biomass, specific enzimatic activities, soil respiration, C mineralization studies are part of these analyses.
4. SOIL DESCRIPTION, SAMPLING AND INTERPRETATION:
We offer in-situ profesional assistance.
Soil description, sampling, and interpretation; particularly in remote areas, are made for environmental assessment as well as land rehabilitation programs, and ecological studies.
